Spirit Wear:

Spirit wear orders will be delivered to the school this week! Please be patient as we get them handed out to the classrooms.

 

Color Run:

This is the school's largest and most important fundraiser for the year. In order for us to fulfill our 2024-2025 $36,455 budget, our fundraising goal for the Color Run is $28,000. Together as a school community, we can do it! We suggest each student raise a minimum of $75. You can send the online donation link to friends and family, making it convenient to ask for donations.

 

Here is an idea of what you and your student can say in an email or in person when asking for donations:

 

Hi Aunt (Name),

My school is having a Color Run fundraiser where I'll be jogging around a track for 10 minutes. It's really fun because we get colored powder tossed on us and there's a DJ playing music too! The money we raise helps my school pay for field trips, assemblies, supplies for the classrooms, family events and many other cool things. Will you help me reach my goal and donate to me?

Color Run Volunteer Sign Up:

• Due to limited parking space, spectators are not allowed at the Color Run. If you want to be a part of the event, you have the option to volunteer. If you are not volunteering we ask you not to come to school to watch. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

PTA Meeting:

There was a great turn out at the first meeting last week! If you have suggestions for topics you’d like to add to the agenda, you can email hwepta@gmail.com.

 

Snack Shack:

The Snack Shack is something we started last year. Since it was a big success and greatly appreciated by the staff, we're going to do it again this year. For those who are new to HWE, families at the school take turns dropping off snacks and drinks which are used to stock a pantry in the staff lounge. Classrooms take turns bringing things in. In addition to snacks and drinks, this year the snack shack will accept gift cards to Gordon Foods, Target, Kroger and Meijer. If you can't make it to the store, let the PTA do the shopping for you! A pink flyer will be sent home in the next few weeks listing the dates for each classroom. A week before it's your classroom's turn, your student will bring a reminder note home. If you have items to drop off you leave them inside the front doors at school. There will be a designated Snack Shack area. If you have a gift card, you can send it in with your student and they can drop it off in the office.

 

Membership:

If you have not become a PTA member, now is a great time to do so. Becoming a member doesn't require you to attend meetings or volunteer. Mum Flower Sale:

The fall mum flower sale is back! The sale starts Friday, September 13th and ends Friday, September 27th. Flowers will be delivered to the school on Sunday, October 6th. More details to come.
